Why You May Want to Consider Becoming a MentorWell Mentor

You’ve lived. You’ve learned. Now it’s time to lead — with heart.

The MentorWell isn’t your average mentorship program.
We don’t believe in lectures. We believe in listening.
We don’t ask for perfection. We ask for presence.

We’re building a network of emotionally intelligent, big-hearted adults who want to be there for young people — especially those who feel stuck, lost, or just need someone to believe in them.

You don’t need a psychology degree.
You just need life experience, a belief of EQ over IQ, and a genuine desire to help.

This is a paid position, not a volunteer opportunity. However, we have big plans on how you can donate your time (completely voluntary) to enrich the lives of those less advantaged.

Who You Are

You're not here to fix. You're here to walk beside.

You might be:

  • A parent, grandparent, or caring adult with wisdom to share

  • A professional who's faced challenges, learned lessons, and grown from them

  • Leaders from the LGBTQ2+ community who wish they had someone to turn to with all their questions

  • A retired leader, athlete, teacher, or entrepreneur looking for a purposeful next chapter

  • Someone who’s been through the dark and come out stronger — and wants to help others do the same

You know what it’s like to question your worth.
To crave guidance.
To just need someone in your corner.

And now, you're ready to be that person for someone else.

Why Mentors Matter (More Than Ever)

Right now, millions of teens and young adults are silently struggling.
Not all of them need a therapist. But all of them need someone.

  • 1 in 3 young people say they don’t have a single trusted adult outside of family.

  • Connection is the antidote to so many of the issues our youth face — anxiety, self-doubt, disconnection, loneliness.

Being a MentorWell mentor means offering that connection. That spark. That safe space.
It’s not therapy. It’s not performance coaching. It’s human connection.

What You’ll Do as a MentorWell Mentor

  • Show up. Listen deeply. Encourage.

  • Meet virtually with a youth mentee once a week or biweekly.

  • Share stories. Ask questions. Hold space for reflection and growth.

  • Be their sounding board — not their saviour.

  • Help them move from “I don’t know what to do” to “I can figure this out.”

You’re not responsible for having all the answers.
Just for showing up with compassion, consistency, and care.

What You’ll Get

  • A purpose-driven way to use your lived experience

  • Training on mentoring with emotional intelligence

  • Connection to a growing community of like-hearted mentors

  • Ongoing support from the MentorWell team

  • The quiet, lasting reward of knowing you made a difference

You’ll be surprised how much you grow, too.

What Makes MentorWell Different?

  • We bridge the gap between therapy and real life.
Many youth don’t need a diagnosis — they need direction. That’s where you come in.

  • We prioritize emotional intelligence.
EQ over resume. Heart over credentials.

  • We’re human-first.
No scripts. No rigid rules. Just two people connecting and growing.
